Something every woman should know - WHY MEN LIE!
Another under-monitor soundbar is hitting store shelves and online retailers, but this time it is from expert capture-card manufacturer AVerMedia. The company is introducing its SonicBlast Soundbar in two configurations with varying wattage. It is also selling a separate subwoofer, and it is aiming right at the PC gaming audience with these products.
The SonicBlast GS331 and G333 soundbars along with the GS335 subwoofer are all available now. The GS331 has 40W of power and sells for $120. The 60W GS333 is $150 price. You can also pick up the GS335 subwoofer for $100. This is a departure for AverMedia, which is best known among gamers for the Live Gamer Extreme video-recording devices. Most recently, it launched the solid Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus with passthrough support for 4K.
This puts AVerMedia in competition with the $170 Razer Leviathan, which has 60W and comes with a subwoofer and the excellent $300 Sound BlasterX Katana that has a peak output of 150W. The SonicBlast sits between those two options in a category that sits between headsets and full 5.1/7.1 speaker systems.
I prefer the soundbar for my PC setup. Having a powerful speaker blasting audio at me from my monitor is a serious upgrade over a headset without having all the messy complications of multiple 5.1 speakers. AVerMedia has done a lot of good work in enabling consumers to capture video from consoles, and it now has an opportunity to extend that reputation to a new gaming-consumer segment.
